Meet The Parent Teacher Association
St Jude’s has a very enthusiastic Parent Teacher Association who are actively working together to support and enhance the school. We are pooling our time, skills and interests to organise events and fundraise to improve the school grounds.
Our PTA was formed last October and is Chaired by parent Donna Le Maitre who has two children at the school. The PTA was originally set up by just two parents who wanted to find a way to improve the school playgrounds – particularly our junior playground which, as everyone knows, is rather bare.
We hold meetings every 6 weeks or so, usually at one of the members homes. Everyone is invited and children can come too.
We need to raise about £100,000 if we want to truly transform it and a number of parents are now researching funding streams and working on a whole school consultation to make this happen. An application to John Laing at the end of last year won us £2,000 to be spent on the nature garden and it now looks fantastic.
Parents have worked together to support the school for many years. The coffee morning group organise social events such as the Summer Fair and the Valentine’s disco as well as building the nature garden from scratch.
Now with the structure of the PTA in place, any parent who is interested in developing any aspect of our school and is willing to give their time and energy, can do so. We have our own bank account and constitution and so have a better chance of winning the money we need to do what we want to do. Anything is possible!
We all want the best for our school as it benefits all our children, so if you wish to support us in building better facilities, if you can help with consultation or investigate and help apply for funding, we would love to hear from you. We are really keen on expanding our network of parents so please contact us on the following email address, email@example.com if you wish to get involved or you could simply make a donation to the PTA via the Paypal Donation Button on the right.
Thank you all in advance.
