Science is about gaining an understanding of the physical and natural world around us. Science is taught through topics with the emphasis on observation, discussion, experimentation and later, recording.
We are concerned with developing a critical and curious attitude towards our world.
Our recent Science Week reinforced this as we looked at climate change and its effect on the world’s habitats and animal populations.
As well as working within the classroom, science lessons provide a great opportunity to explore the local environment and work outdoors.
The school grounds are used as an important resource and this year, we are even working towards becoming Natural Thinkers.
We will be using the outdoors to bring our learning to life and to develop a deeper understanding of our local environment, including the nature garden, and how to look after it.
