Black History Family Learning Project

Monday 1st October marked the beginning of Black History Month. To commemorate the amazing achievements of the Black community the theme of this term’s whole school project is ‘Personal Heroes’. Who inspires you? Who do you want to be like when you get older? Who has done something amazing in their life?

The teachers have shared some of their personal heroes; now it’s your turn!

We would love for you to look all around for your heroes. They could be from close to home or further afield. They could be world famous or famous in your family!

This is why we ask you to choose your personal hero.

Children are invited to be creative and to interpret this theme as they wish. We have given a few examples but we are looking for original ideas too!

The local Art Gallery 198 is featuring a special exhibition to celebrate the life of
Jon Daniel – Afro Supa Hero which may be an additional source for inspiration over the
half term holiday!
